If a favourite team's decimal odds are 1.25, a ৳500 stake returns ৳625 — a profit of only ৳125. This is what a "favourite" looks like: the odds are low because the market considers them more likely to win.
3 selections: decimal 1.40 × 1.80 × 1.90 = combined odds 4.79. A ৳100 stake returns ৳479 if all three win. If even one loses, the entire ৳100 is gone.
A multi bet combines several events on one bet slip. The odds of each selection are multiplied together to form combined odds. The return can therefore be much higher, but all selections must win — if even one loses, you lose the entire stake. Multi bets can be good for entertainment, but the risk is higher.
On a betting exchange there are two options — back and lay. BACK means betting that Team A will win; LAY means betting that Team A will not win. Example: Team A decimal odds 2.00 — backing ৳500 gives a ৳500 profit if they win and a ৳500 loss if they lose. Laying Team A (at ৳500 backer's stake) means you receive ৳500 if Team A does not win, but you pay ৳500 if they do.
